From Lagos to Chicago, Lola Omolola's path has been shaped by the stories and struggles of women around her. The abduction of 276 girls in Chibok, Nigeria, was a turning point, leading her to establish Female IN (FIN).
The Story Behind FIN
Lola felt the need for a space where women could come together, share their stories, and find solace. That's how FIN began. Today, it's a community where over two million women:
- Connect and share their experiences.
- Discuss societal challenges like gender violence and mental health.
- Meet in real-life events across 85 cities.
A Voice Among Many
While Lola has had the opportunity to speak at platforms like the Obama Foundation Summit and the Skoll World Forum, she believes the real heroes are the women of FIN. Their stories, resilience, and support for one another are what truly drive the community forward.
Looking Ahead
Lola's hope is simple: a world where every woman, especially in Africa, feels heard and empowered. With FIN, she aims to:
- Provide tools and resources for women to grow.
- Launch initiatives that offer practical skills.
- Build a network where women can find trusted professionals.
Together, Making a Difference
The journey hasn't been just about Lola or FIN. It's about every woman who's found her voice, gained confidence, or discovered a support system. It's about the collective effort to uplift and empower.
